Married on England's Golf Coast

Six bedrooms, walled gardens and a marquee lawn, held entirely for your group — one minute from Royal Birkdale.

The residence is offered on an exclusive-use basis, and that is what makes it a wedding venue: one house, one set of gardens, and everyone you want there with you. This is how a wedding weekend at the residence usually takes shape.

The setting

One house, held entirely for your group

  • Exclusive use of the house and grounds
  • Mature walled gardens, lawns and terraces
  • Space for a marquee seating up to 200
  • Off-road parking for 15+ cars and mini-buses
  • One minute from Royal Birkdale

Weddings at the residence are private by definition. The house, the gardens and every room in between are yours alone from the moment you arrive — no other function, no shared terrace, no timed handover between one part of the day and the next.

Behind a walled boundary, the grounds give you lawns, terraces and mature planting for photographs and drinks outside, with room for a marquee seating up to 200 if the guest list runs long. It is all on one site, a minute from Royal Birkdale, so golfers can be back from a round in time for speeches.

Ceremony & photographs

A setting that photographs itself

  • Garden, lawn and terrace locations for photographs
  • Drinks and canapés outside or in the reception rooms
  • Marquee on the lawn for up to 200, available to hire
  • Three reception rooms inside if the weather turns
  • Nearby churches and registry offices, on request

The grounds give you a backdrop without leaving home: the walled garden, the open lawn, the tennis court and the front of the house, all within a few steps of one another and none of them shared with another party on your day.

Some couples marry at a nearby church or registry office and bring everyone back to the house for photographs, drinks and canapés. Others keep the whole day on site under a marquee. Tell us how you picture it and we will help you shape the timings around it.

Dinner & dancing

Supper, speeches and the small hours

  • Private chef and bespoke wedding menus
  • Seated dinners and informal suppers alike
  • Wine pairings, bar stocking and drinks reception
  • Three reception rooms for dinner, speeches and late drinking
  • Daily housekeeping, including the morning after

The principal reception room is where the day settles: deep seating for the group before dinner, a long table for the meal itself, and room for speeches without anyone having to leave the house.

A private chef can cook for the whole party, from a formal seated dinner to a relaxed first-night supper, with breakfasts laid on for anyone who wants one before an early tee time. Wine, bar stocking and a drinks schedule are arranged in advance so the evening runs itself.

The whole weekend

Everyone stays together

  • Six bedrooms sleeping up to twelve
  • Room to get ready, with garden views
  • Indoor heated pool, sauna and mini gym
  • Golf at the coastal courses, timed around your day
  • Breakfast and housekeeping the morning after

Six bedrooms sleep twelve, so the closest family and friends are under the same roof: the night before, the getting-ready morning, and a slow breakfast the day after. Two further reception rooms, the pool and the games room mean there is always somewhere for the rest of the party to be.

The indoor heated pool, sauna and mini gym are useful on both sides of the day — a quiet swim before the ceremony, and a long recovery after it. Golf can be arranged at the coastal courses either side of the wedding itself, timed around your schedule.
